Help support the placement of wreaths for our
Fallen Veterans at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies
As a surprise to many, no governmental money is received for the wreaths placed at the national cemeteries. The wreaths and their transportation to the cemeteries are taken care of by individual sponsors, corporate donors, and volunteer truckers. As the number of graves increases yearly at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, the need continues to grow to raise funds for more wreaths.
We are hopeful to continue covering EVERY grave at the National Cemetery and ask for your assistance. Our Detachment participates in the "Three for Two" Program - 100% of the funds we raise for this program go directly to the purchase of wreaths for the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies - we do no receive payment for our fundraising efforts. Thus, for every two wreaths sponsored ($34), a third will be placed at no additional cost.

In 2023, Washington County Detachment 1138 completed its 9th year of fundraising for Wreaths Across America to benefit the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. We are excited to announce that ALL graves were covered for the ninth year in a row!
The Detachment members raised a total of $12,791.00. With our participation in the "Match Program" and the "3-for-2 Program," the funds raised purchased 1,330 wreaths for veterans' graves at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Total funds raised from 2015 through 2023 to honor our Fallen have grown to over $100,000. Detachment 1138 members are extremely pride of their efforts!

Saturday, December 14 at Noon - Wreaths Across America Day at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA at Noon. Wreath laying will occur after a brief ceremony. This is an uplifting event that should be experienced by all.
